BIG I CT BOARD OF DIRECTORS

About

Lisa is Vice President for CT Insurance Exchange of Southington (CIE), a family-run agency. Prior to joining the insurance industry in 2013, she spent over 20 years teaching and consulting in the CT Public School System. Her focus was helping districts develop and implement and implement practices and procedures to create a positive school climate for students and staff. She was instrumental in finalizing the first Anti-Bullying Legislation in the state. She was often found speaking at the State Capitol or on local news stations, educating the public on the bullying epidemic.

Lisa has been able to take that experience and apply it to her family’s agency, creating a strong staff and educating their devoted clients on understanding their own coverages. Honesty, transparency, and integrity are what CIE clients can depend on when working with her and her staff. For her, the best feeling is when a client walks into the office distrusting the insurance industry but leaves the agency with confidence and assurance knowing their family, business, and assets are securely covered. She has seen that when a client can feel in control of their coverages, they often become a lifelong partner of CIE.

Lisa is an advocate for collaboration over competition and founded an Insurance Agency Collaborative for women-led agencies across Connecticut. She also volunteers with non-profit organizations, including the international Alternatives to Violence Program (AVP), operating in several Connecticut correctional institutions.

Outside of work, Lisa enjoys golf, live music, spending time on the water, and traveling with her husband, adult children, and first grandchild.
