Education, Advocacy & Fun at the Big I CT Morning at the Capitol

Big I Connecticut members attending the April 22 Morning at the Capital event were treated to a program filled with education, advocacy, and even a little bit of fun. Attendees visited with lawmakers and legislative staff during breakfast in the Legislative Office Building Dining Room before sitting down for a lengthy conversation with Insurance and Real Estate Committee Co-Chair Rep. Kerry Wood, Insurance and Real Estate Committee Member Rep. Tom Delnicki, and freshman Rep. Nick Menapace.

The conversation touched on a range of topics important to the insurance industry, including availability and affordability, industry modernization, flood insurance awareness, roofing claim assignment of benefits, and other relevant topics.

A message that lawmakers made crystal clear was the importance of hearing from the industry and constituents about their concerns.

They stressed that being accessible was part of their job as public servants and that hearing from experts on various policy topics is essential to crafting effective public policy.

The morning ended with a tour of the beautiful State Capitol led by Big I Connecticut retained lobbyists Dallas Dodge and Joy Avallone. For those wondering what Connecticut “State Hero” Nathan Hale, hoola hoops, and “Sine Die” have in common, you’ll need to attend this terrific event when we host it again!
