Mary Pursell, CPCU, began her insurance career working part-time at an independent agency while still in high school, laying the foundation for a lifelong commitment to the industry. A graduate of Southern Connecticut State University, she was mentored by the founder of Abbate Insurance, where she gained hands-on experience across all areas of agency operations before advancing into a leadership role and ultimately agency ownership.
With deep expertise in risk management, underwriting, and corporate leadership, Mary is known for her client-centered approach—combining technical knowledge with genuine care and attention to each client’s unique needs. Her focus on building strong relationships and delivering tailored solutions has been central to her success throughout her career.
Mary currently serves as the National Director on our board, where she contributes her experience and leadership to support independent agents and strengthen the insurance industry at both the state and national levels.
