About
Melissa Gatto is the Regional Marketing Manager at Lawley, LLC, bringing nearly four decades of experience as a licensed Property & Casualty and Life & Health producer. She began her insurance career in 1987 and joined Shoff Darby in 1999, where she played a key role in agency growth prior to its merger with Lawley in 2023. Melissa specializes in complex commercial accounts, with a focus on manufacturing, technology, nonprofit organizations, and professional and management liability, as well as private equity and global clients.
A highly engaged industry leader, Melissa has served on numerous national and regional advisory councils, including those for CNA, Selective, Chubb, and IIABA, and currently serves on the Acadia Insurance Company Agent’s Board. She is also a sought-after speaker, having participated in leadership forums and keynote events for organizations such as Travelers, Chubb, and Liberty Mutual.
Melissa has been an active leader within Big I Connecticut since 2018, serving as Chair of the Board from 2021–2023, IIABA State National Director, and now Immediate Past Chair. She is also the co-founder and co-chair of the Big I Connecticut Women’s Summit, where she is dedicated to advancing leadership, connection, and growth for women in the insurance industry.
