NCCI Proposes Small Workers Comp Loss Cost Decrease
The National Council on Compensation Insurance (NCCI) has filed for a small decrease in Workers’ Compensation insurance loss costs, according to a recent announcement from the Connecticut Insurance Department (CID.) Interested members of the public may submit comments to CID by October 23.
The loss cost filing applies to policies effective on and after Jan. 1, 2026. If approved, it would reduce voluntary market loss costs by an average of 3.8% and residual market loss costs by an average of 0.4%. It would change loss costs and rates so that they are expressed in three decimal places. For example, a loss cost that is currently 0.25 might become 0.253.
The filing would also boost the minimum weekly payroll for executive officers from $1,650 to $1,700 and the maximum from $3,300 to $3,400.
